About HFH Trips
Hope for Hispaniola trips are designed for families – for people of all ages and skillsets to come and do their part to further God's kingdom. The team's primary purpose is to aid and work with the local churches to meet whatever needs they have in their community.
During the course of one week, trip members participate in a variety of ministries, including construction, medical clinics, vacation bible school, and evangelism. The day begins with a time of worship and devotion, then the team disperses for different projects. In the evenings, members attend a different church each night and worship alongside Dominican brothers and sisters in Christ.

Trips are typically organized by groups, not exclusive to churches.
Trip Costs
Single Week: $1,000 per person
Two Weeks: $2,000 per person
Covers lodging, food, and transportation in the DR. Airfare not included.
Trip Locations
Volunteers fly in and out of Punta Cana International Airport and stay at the HFH Missions Center in Higuey.
During the day, you will visit Haitian villages like La Higuera, San Pedro, and more.
Medical Missions in the DR
Many US medical professionals join Hope for Hispaniola short term trips to provide medical care to villages without it. Clinics are planned in partnership with a US medical professional and the Hope for Hispaniola team. All clincs must be approved in advance.
During the trip, US medical professionals work alongside Domincan doctors to see patients, treat illnesses, and share the Gospel.
Our Lastest Construction Projects
Our teams often include construction professional, who take leadership in the assigned projects for Hope for Hispaniola. We continue to work on our Missions Center and improving the La Higuera Children's Center. We also help make repairs on local churches.
Meeting Needs, Loving Others
Vacation Bible School - Wherever our team is set up for the day, we share Bible stories, games, and songs with the local children & schools.
Door-to-Door Evangelism - Our team visits people in their homes, sharing the love of Christ.
Prison Ministry - Volunteers from our team will visit local prisons to share the Gospel with the incarcerated.
Women's Ministry - In partnership with local churches, our team help run women's ministry events for the community.

To participate in the glorious redeeming work of God by partnering with churches in the Dominican Republic to offer hope to the Dominican and Haitian people who live there.
We accomplish this by sharing the Gospel, making disciples, strengthening local churches, and serving communities through practical acts of love and compassion.
We partner with churches from both the Dominican Republic and the United States, providing opportunities to work together in ministry through evangelism, discipleship, education, construction, medical care, food distribution, camps, and meeting basic needs.
Through every ministry and every partnership, our desire is to make Christ known, see lives transformed by the Gospel, strengthen His Church, and bring glory to God.

A Day with Hope for Hispaniola
Our Trips Follow a Consistent Schedule of Work and Rest
Morning Devotions
Run by leaders of your group, your day will start with a time of praise and reflection on who God is to prepare for the day.
Breakfast
Breakfast consists of eggs (fried eggs, hard boiled eggs, or scrambled eggs), salami or bacon, mashed potatoes, bread, and cereal. Leaders will also use this time to explain the day's work.
Ministry on Location
The team will travel to a predetermined location or stay on-site for that day's assignments. Lunch will be provided on-site.
Return to Missions Center
Minsitry work will continue to mid- afternoon, then the team will return to camp to clean up, rest, and change for evening activities.
Dinner
Dinner will be classic Dominican food. Each day will have different rice, Dominican style beans, salad, and chicken, beef, or pork. Some days will have French fries with the dinner instead of rice and beans.
Evening Activities
Evening activities vary, including visiting local churches for evening services, helping with church ministry events, or visiting Higuey for cultural experiences.

Located in the heart of the Dominican Republic, this center serves as our base of operations
Built in the heart of the Dominican Republic, the Hope for Hispaniola Missions Center is surrounded by mountains and fields. Dorms are split between men and women with premium twin mattresses with showers and bathrooms. The Missions Center also has 24/7 security, ensuring the safety of all short term teams.
Apartments
For frequent members of short term trips, they can purchase a permanent appartment on missions center property.
Chapel
The chapel is where missions center visitors gather for devotions, worship, and daily prayer during trips and retreats.

Trip Preparation
All trip locations, ministries, and activities are coordinated and run by Hope for Hispaniola to ensure the trip meets the most pressing needs of the community and to curate a positive experience for the group. Projects will be determined in advance by HFH to obtain the proper materials and plans.
1. Information Meeting
After confirming your trip dates with Hope for Hispaniola, we help you hold an info meeting for potential volunteers.
2. Paperwork & Deposit
Those wishing to join a short term trip should fill out the trip application, medical form, and submit their deposit
3. Fundraising
We strongly encourage trip members to send out letters to friends and family to ask for prayers and funding for the trip.

As the trip draws nearer, check out our packing list, necessary vaccinations, and other trip preparation details.
Frequently Asked Questions
What food will be provided during the trip?
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all provided during the trip.
Breakfast includes fried eggs, hard boiled eggs, or scrambled eggs or a combination of two types. There will either be Dominican salami or bacon depending on availability. Mashed potatoes will also be served. Boxed cereal and milk will be available.
For lunch, sandwiches, chips, and prepackaged cookies will be provided.
Dinner consists of rice, Dominican style beans, and chicken, beef, or pork. Some days will have French fries with the dinner instead of rice and beans. A green salad will be served with every meal with a Dominican salad dressing or other dressing.
Are flights included in the trip cost?
No, flights are not included in the trip costs. Flights should be purchased separately, and your team will receive instructions on which flights should be booked.
What do I need to do before we leave?
Make sure you get any necessary vaccinations and supplies needed for the trip. Download our packing list to make sure you have everything you need.
Do I need to speak Spanish to go on a trip?
No, you do not need to speak Spanish to go on a Hope for Hispaniola trip! We work alongside local translators to help us communicate effectively, many of whom have joined us for many years.
Are payments refundable if I decide not to go?
Payments are not refundable as we use your payment to pay for food, transportation, and other items for the group. Flights are refundable depending on how you book them.
