We at Hope for Hispaniola believe that effective missions work requires long term commitment with ongoing work throughout the entire year. Led by the Vincik family, our ongoing efforts are supported by the efforts of our short term teams. From food ministry to our newly launched camping ministry, we continue to carry out our mission.

The La Higuera Children's Center
The Children's Center provides education, meals, and showcase the love of Christ for children living in the Hatian villiage of La Higuera.
Teaching English for Professional Pathways
Many students become HFH translators or find promising jobs in the tourist industry once they graduate.
Nourishing Young Minds & Bodies
Each student is provided with full meals while they're in school, which ensures they go home with full stomachs. We've provided over 250,000 meals since HFH began!
Showing the Love of Christ
We offer a Christ-centered education for the children who attend school.
Feeding the Hungry, Sharing the Gospel
We look for needs through local churches for those who need assistance with food. We try to give monthly or bi-monthly with larger contributions to the boys orphanage in Higuey. When meals are delivered, we take that opportunity to share the Gospel with those in impoverished neighborhoods.
Using Creation to Bring Healing
Camping ministry is held once a month with 8 campers and 4 leaders. It's a one night event from 4:00pm Saturday to 2:00-3:00pm on Sunday with an hourly schedule. From learning survival skills to worshipping together and have time alone in nature, this ministry brings people to interact with God and his creation.

Holiday Food Baskets
We assemble and distribute meal baskets for Christmas, providing families with a meal they otherwise couldn't afford.
Church Project Support
Local churches host our short-term teams for VBS, medical clinics, and more so we can bring more of their community to their doors.

"I went on my first mission trip in 2011. I went to check if off my Christian check list(had a lot to learn). My 2 or 3rd night I had an intense dream so strong it woke me up shaking. God said I was to move to the DR, build a camp in the mountains, and serve His youth. If you have been to HFH you can see how God kept His promise."

What does the General Fund go to?
Donations to the general fund allow us to meet individual needs we encounter while doing ministry. Whether it's medical care a pastor points out to us or helping the Higuey Boys Orphanage, we strive to live out Jesus's call to love and care for the least of these.
Why did you start the camping ministry?
The camping ministry allows people from the community to encounter God in His creation through practical skills. We teach survival techniques while also creating time for soltitude and prayer. It brings healing to those who are hurting.
I'm interested in full time ministry. Where do I start?
We have an internship program for those exploring full time missionary work! Interns will shadow the Vincik family and help in their work. They gain hands-on experience with meeting needs and sharing the Gospel across cultures.
Why does Hope for Hispaniola support the La Higuera school?
Matt Henderson met Pastor Lydia, the founder of the school, on one of his early short term trips. She told him that God has told her he would build her a new school. After hearing her story, Matt began working with Pastor Lydia to build a school, hire staff, and support the community. Though both have now passed, the La Higuera school is still a big piece of Hope for Hispaniola's ministry.
